An Innovative Solution
Geothermal resources extend way beyond traditional areas where Geysers, Hot Springs and other surface expressions point you to the resource. Prospectivity for "Blind" hydrothermal, Engineered Geothermal Systems (EGS) and Advanced Geothermal Systems (AGS) can all be assessed using techniques commonly applied in Oil & Gas exploration. But there are key differences. The risk with geothermal is not that you won't find heat (it's literally everywhere in the Earth!), the risk is that the subsurface is not hot enough to economically supply heat for the required end-use, for a given extraction method. Heat does not travel well, so at COMPLETIONS GEOSCIENCE we are developing a screening tool that focuses on finding the resource you need, where you need it.
